Family tradition
in every burrito
We enjoy sharing and continuing to build our legacy, with pride and passion for our Mexican roots, to bring authentic Tijuana-style burritos to everyone's lips.
Our History

Great stories have been written since 1934, when Mr. Ángel Bórquez opened the traditional Club Corona bowling alley on Revolución Avenue. It was there that the Tijuana-style burrito began to take shape.
This spot, where people went to drink, bowl, and socialize, quickly became a gathering place for locals and tourists alike.
However, the real draw of the place was neither the drinks nor the bowling lanes, but the food—specifically, the burritos filled with machaca, seafood, chile relleno, carne asada, and other northern stews that began stealing diners' attention.
The menu was simple yet effective: freshly made flour tortillas filled with stews from Sonora or Puerto Nuevo, prepared with fresh ingredients made to order.
Over time, Club Corona evolved. The founder's son, Polo Borquez, inherited the business and decided to give it a new name: Bol Corona. The combination of "boliche" (bowling) and "Corona" paid tribute to the place's origins, but its essence was increasingly centered on the burritos, rather than bowling or drinks.

However, in 1990, tragedy struck the business when a fire consumed the original location on Avenida Revolución, forcing the closure of the establishment where it all began.
But by then, the seed had already been planted: Bol Corona had several locations across Tijuana, allowing the tradition to survive the flames. Far from fading away, the legend of Bol Corona burritos established itself as a culinary institution in Baja California.
Bol Corona's success does not lie solely in nostalgia or past fame. Over the decades, this restaurant has managed to stay relevant without losing sight of its roots.
While the original recipe of large, soft flour tortillas filled with stews like chicharrón, barbacoa, or marlin with cheese remains, new options have also emerged to adapt to contemporary tastes.
